NAWIC is an international association that promotes and supports the advancement and employment of women in the construction industry. Pittsburgh’s Chapter #161 was first chartered on March 29, 1969 with 33 founding members, and Kay Lamison as first chapter president. Today, our membership has grown to include women who are actively employed in all aspects of the construction industry, such as business owners, managers, consultants, tradeswomen, operators, architects, accountants and attorneys.
Chapter #161 meets regularly on the 4th Tuesday of each month at various locations throughout the Pittsburgh area. Special chapter events include an annual Block Kids competition for elementary age children and a CAD Design/Drafting Competition for high school students. |
